Diamond Trellis Headband Crochet Pattern

Size: Changes for smaller/larger size adjustments are in [ ]. Adult Headband Circumference 20" (51cm) Headband Width 4” (10cm)

Gauge: 4 rows x 4 stitches in sc = 1 inch

Materials: • 4.50mm (7) Crochet Hook • 150yds Worsted Yarn (10ply) • Tapestry Needle

Special Stitches Front Post Triple/Treble Crochet 2 Together (Fptr2tog) Insert your hook into the next stitch. Yarn over, and pull back through that stitch (2 loops on hook). Insert your hook into the next stitch. Yarn over, and pull back through that stitch (3 loops on hook). Yarn over, and pull through all the loops on your hook.

Headband: Rnd 1- Ch68 [Add or take away sets of 4 foundation chains if you'd like to create a smaller or larger headband]. Join with sl st in first ch. Ch1, 1 sc in the same st. 1 sc in the next 67 sts. Join with sl st in first st. Rnd 2- Ch2, 1 dc in the same st. 1 dc in the next 67 sts. Join with sl st in first st. Rnd 3- Ch1, 1 sc in same st. 1 sc in next 2 sts. Fptr2tog around the 2nd sc from “Rnd 1” until 2 loops left on hook, skip 3 sc from “Rnd 1” and complete fptr2tog around next st from “Rnd 1”. *1 sc in next 3 sts. Fptr2tog, working first part of fptr2tog around the base of the last fptr2tog, skip 3 sts (from “Rnd 1”) and complete fptr2tog around next st from “Rnd 1”. Repeat from the * all around. When you reach the last st, Fptr2tog, working first part of fptr2tog around the base of the last fptr2tog, skip 3 sts (from “Rnd 1”) and complete fptr2tog around next st from “Rnd 1” (which is also the 2nd st of “Rnd 1”). Join with sl st in first st of “Rnd 3”.

Yarn: 2 Skeins Drops Paris – Dark Old Pink

Stitches Used: st(s) - stitch(es) ch - chain stitch sl st - slip stitch sc - single crochet dc – double crochet Fptr2tog – front post triple (treble) crochet 2 together

Rnd 4- Ch2, 1 dc in the same st. 1 dc in the next 67 sts. Join with sl st in first st.

Rnd 5- Ch1, 1 sc in same st. Fptr2tog around the top of the last fptr2tog from “Rnd 3” (Last st of that rnd) and the first fptr2tog from “Rnd 3”. *1 sc in next 3 sts of “Rnd 5”. Fptr2tog, working first part of fptr2tog around the tops of the last fptr2tog you worked into from “Rnd 3”, and then around the next fptr2tog from “Rnd 3”. Repeat from the * all around. 1 sc in the last 2 sts. Join with sl st in first st of “Rnd 5”.

(Add or take away sets of “Rnd 4” - “Rnd 7” if you'd like to create a thinner or wider headband) Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Border: Top- Attach your yarn to “Rnd 13” from the headband pattern. Ch1, sc all along the edge of your headband. Join with sl st in first st. (68 sts) Fasten off, and weave in loose ends. Bottom- Attach your yarn to “Rnd 1” from the headband pattern. Ch1, sc all along the edge of your headband. Join with sl st in first st. (68 sts) Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
