HOW TO USE These easy reward cards are a great way to rein force good choices and positi ve habits without spending any money or relying on tangible goodies. Copy the Cards Pa ge onto brightly col ored paper, chop, and store somewhere handy. I like to keep them org ani zed by the reward so students can easily pick thei r pri ze.

The cards are great for surprising students with a moment of recognition for showing excellent perseverance, kindness, responsibility, or any other character trait you'd like to grow in that student (this may be public or pri vate recognition). Afterwards, I let them choose a pri vilege card. When we're trying to strengthen a new habit, I might offer a choice of cards to those who reach the goal. For example:

My students may use thei r card on any day but must let me know in the morning before the bell rings. Enjoying thei r pri vilege should not inter fere with thei r learning (or anyone else's). *It's help ful to jot down which students have recei ved cards. (I j ust add a little checkmark by the student's name on my roster list.) This way you can be sure to hand out cards evenly and l ook for opportunities to recogni ze good behavior in students who haven' t yet earned one. www.teachertrap.com
